Piedra de la Luz - Wild Camping - Baños, Ecuador

 Wild camp at Piedra de la Luz, a 5km (2 hour) hike from Ulba, near Baños, Tungurahua, Ecuador.  This is the gateway to the Amazon and our wild camp site has a legendary view of the Andes, over the rainforest. We provide a bathroom, an honesty bar, and a space to pitch a tent or put up your hammock.

  Local legend in Banos is that the mythological Carbunclo creature used la Piedra de la Luz as a resting place and look out from the Avenue of the Volcanoes to the Amazon rainforest.

 I am Gonzalo Arias Lopez. My family is Quichua from the Napo region deep in the Ecuadorean Amazon. We emigrated from the Amazon to Banos 3 generations ago and since then  La Piedra de la Luz has been part of my family. Now we invite you to wild camp with amazing views of  Banos.
